How GLA profiles work

Katie is Charlies' (from the previous story) daughter in law and the wife of Will. She's been invited to the Christmas 2024 event. Katie and Will have three kids, George, Charly and Lou. All of whom are too young to have their own email address and would likely forget their GLA password anyway. To keep them included Katie can create profiles for each of them under her own account. She'll be the only one who can log in and will receive emails but each of the kids will appear like full users.

Before adding the kids the Christmas 24 event looks like this

Clicking on the 'Profiles' link, at the top of the page, brings us to Katie's profile page. Currently there is only her profile, created when she signed up

Clicking 'Add a new profile' brings Katie to a new page where she can enter details for the George's new profile.

George's profile now appears on Katie's profile page but she is still using the site as Katie. As shown in the top right hand corner.

Clicking 'Change to this profile' will change her profile to that of George. Again shown in the top right hand corner. Any action she takes now will be as George.

However George wasn't invited to Christmas 24 as his profile didn't exist then. Clicking 'Add profiles to existing events' and then 'Join this event' will allow Katie to add George to any event she's invited to.

Now George is showing up as invited to Christmas 24.

And he apears alongside the other members.

The same process can then repeated for the other kids and now everyone is invited but Katie is still in control.
